The purpose of IAP is to try something you would not normally do.  The last 2 internships I had done were on the business side, so I wanted to try something on the software engineering side.  Also, I didn't have much time during the semester to learn the latest systems.  For example: NoSQL, AWS, Ruby, and Rails.  My goal for IAP was to get much better at those things, and to become acquainted with the community in San Francisco.  I was lucky to be selected to work with CardSpring over IAP.  It was my first time working at a real engineering-driven organization.  The CTO ran cryptography at Netscape while the SSL standard was bring set.

Motivation

The purpose of IAP is to try something you would not normally do. The last 2 internships I had done were on the business side, so I wanted to try something on the software engineering side. Also, I didn't have much time during the semester to learn the latest systems. For example: NoSQL, AWS, Ruby, and Rails. My goal for IAP was to get much better at those things, and to become acquainted with the community in San Francisco. I was lucky to be selected to work with CardSpring over IAP. It was my first time working at a real engineering-driven organization. The CTO ran cryptography at Netscape while the SSL standard was bring set.
