Looking back on the essay I wrote 4 years ago (and reading Macbeth), I understand more about the beauty of Shakespeare. Hearing, not reading, his plays makes a big difference. In addition, on stage, there are many visual clues to help, although it is still easy to get lost. Modern audiences may have more "intellectualism" than I give them credit for. I suppose the counterpoint to my essay is that Shakespeare's story and images are adaptable and updatable to modern day. -ThePlaz 21:30, 19 November 2008 (EST)
