My Public Comment to the FCC on Docket 98-170 Truth-in-Billing and Billing Format
I believe that the FCC should require communications companies (landline, voip, cell, tv) to have a calculator on their website which discloses what taxes and fees will be charged FOR EACH billing option. When I signed up for Sprint, I could not find how much the taxes and fees were before I signed up on their website. When I asked FiOS webchat sales what the taxes and fees would be they required that I call the local business office. There is no need for the run around - companies should readily disclose what taxes and fees will apply on their website.
