4.605 A Global History of Architecture is the Course 4 Architecture (Architecture) a class I took with Mark Jarzombek at MIT as a Senior spring semester.
Class Review
I liked learning about the architecture of the world. However, I found the grading was more weighted towards memorizing histories. Was more about culture than buildings. Perhaps it could have been more about themes or analysis. Also I thought it was going to be more on the modern era when I signed up.
Grade:A
I think I pulled it together for the final.
Notes Quality
Very visual class. Was being filmed for EdX
Textbook
A Global History of Architecture Book written by professor, but course surprisingly differed from the book.
- Notebook: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
- Paper 1: Simmons Use
- Paper 2: Hagia Sophia
- Paper 3: Viharas: Buddhist Monasteries
